Lalor’s Congressional Campaign Off to Promising Start
Peekskill, NY/December 2, 2007 – Since announcing his bid to unseat
John Hall last Sunday, Kieran Michael Lalor's congressional campaign has
swung into full operation.
The Campaign will soon open a headquarters in downtown Fishkill, giving
the campaign a visible presence in the community. Voters will have the
opportunity to visit the office and personally share their concerns with
Lalor and his staff. Early fundraising success has allowed the campaign
to bring on a Campaign Manager, a full-time Communications Director,
and a strong team of volunteers.
The Campaign is also excited to expand its online presence. A new blog,
kieran2008.blogspot.com,will give voters daily updates on the Campaign.
Online fundraising is continuing. The Campaign has made strong online
outreach efforts to voters, sharing with them Lalor’s brand of American
optimism.
"This is going to be a long race and we want to capitalize on our early
momentum. We have a talented and energized group of staff and volunteers
committed to winning this race," said Lalor. "Right now I'm the only
Republican in the race, but that doesn't mean we can sit back and take
things for granted. We have a decisive edge because we have been
working hard to build the necessary infrastructure to beat John Hall next
November. John Hall is going to be in for a tough race.”
Lalor continued, "I'm putting my law career on hold because I believe
Washington needs fresh ideas from new people. America’s greatness
comes from ordinary citizens who are willing to make the sacrifices
necessary to actively participate in our democracy. I have been privileged
to serve with these Americans as a teacher, a Marine, a union member, and in
relief efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. I’m grateful for the
opportunity to spend the next few months meeting New Yorkers in the
19th District and listening to their shared concerns.”
Kieran Michael Lalor’s grassroots support has allowed the campaign to
quickly launch an effective organization. The enthusiasm of voters
around the 19th Congressional District is reflected in the campaign’s quick
start.
