Marine Corps Veteran Of
Operation Iraqi Freedom Kieran Michael Lalor Announces Strong
Fundraising Support In Bid To Defeat Democrat Congressman John
Hall
Peekskill, NY / April 13, 2007 – Just one month after the
formation of the Kieran Michael Lalor 2008 Congressional
Exploratory Committee, Lalor is pleased to announce the
Committee has raised more than $20,000 in financial support for
his bid to defeat Democrat John Hall in New York’s 19th
Congressional District. Using a simple website (www.KML2008.com)
and clearly articulating the principles of Reagan conservatism,
Lalor has generated wide support and interest from voters
throughout the Hudson Valley and nationwide.
The March 31st Federal Election Commission filing is
critical because it is the first indication of voter enthusiasm
for candidates. “The early support for my candidacy is
confirmation that voters in the District are excited to embrace
a true conservative,” Lalor said.
In February, a gathering of New
York Young Republicans in Poughkeepsie erupted in applause when
Lalor was introduced as the man who would “send John Hall back
to Woodstock.” Since then, Republican activists in the 19th
Congressional District have been buzzing about Lalor’s run.
A Marine Corps veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Lalor is a
native of Wappingers Falls who lives with his wife and daughter
in Peekskill. After returning from Iraq, Lalor realized that
anti-war liberals were undermining the war effort for their own
political advantage. This prompted Lalor to become a national
security activist and establish Eternal Vigilance Society, an
organization dedicated to winning the war on terror (www.EternalVigilanceSociety.org).
According to Lalor, “Eternal Vigilance Society draws its name
and spirit from Thomas Jefferson’s profound belief that, ‘The
price of freedom is eternal vigilance.’”
After John Hall was elected, Lalor decided it was time to
consider electoral action and began aggressively exploring a run
for Congress.
Along with his support for
strong national security policy, Lalor’s views on traditional
values and limited government reflect those of his District.
“With the outstanding March 31st showing, the campaign is off to
a great start,” Lalor said. “After just 3 months, voters already
realize Hall is not the one. Each day more 19th
District voters are convinced that someone with a first-hand
understanding of the threats and challenges our nation faces
should represent them in Congress.”
