Defend Our Troops Rally

On Sunday October 28, 2007 a collection of veterans, military family members and patriots participated in a Defend the Troops rally outside a political fundraiser in Bedford Hills , New York .

The rally was organized in response to singer David Crosby’s slanderous statement days earlier on national TV that the mission of the American military in Iraq was to 'kill someone else’s mother and sister.'

Crosby was the feature guest at the fund raiser for Congressman John Hall (D-New York). Congressman Hall had refused to cancel Crosby ’s appearance in response to the slur upon our troops.

Members of the American Legion, Gathering of Eagles, Vietnam and Iraq veterans and active duty military personnel joined Kieran Michael Lalor to defend our troops against the malicious slurs bandied about by the radical left.

Guests at the $2,300 a plate fund raiser were greeted by the sight of American flags, Pro-Troops signs and Patriotic music playing along the country road in front of the private estate where the event was held.

Dear Friends and Supporters:

I need your help this Sunday October 28^th.

Singer David Crosby recently smeared U.S. Troops when he said the following to Chris Matthews on the show Hardball:

"You know, on the one hand you've got a young kid who is patriotic, who loves his country, believes in it and he's being told, 'Yeah this is the truth and we've gotta go in there to protect your mother and your sister.’”

“And he goes over and he finds out the job is killing somebody else's mother and sister."

Congressman John Hall, who Represents West Point, Stewart Air Base, Camp Smith and 77,000 veterans was not bothered by this awful remark. Amazingly, Hall is hosting Crosby as a special guest at a fundraiser for wealthy elites this weekend in Bedford Hills, NY.

In a recent letter I called on Hall to:

1. Cancel the event

2. Donate any money already raised to the Wounded Warrior Project

3. Unequivocally condemn Crosby’s slur of our men and women in uniform.

Hall refused and through a spokesperson defended

Crosby saying "He has passionate views about the war in Iraq and he's entitled to express his own opinion."

I’ve decided to let Hall, Crosby and the other anti-military limousine liberals at the event know that we emphatically condemn Crosby’s verbal attack against our troops and that we will not remain silent while our Congressman legitimizes troop slander and profits off it.

Please join me on Sunday October 28th at 1:30PM. We’ll meet at the Bedford Hills MetroNorth Station which is located right off of the Saw Mill Parkway. At 1:45PM we’ll drive to 376 Harris Road where the event is being held. The fundraiser begins at 2PM so I’d like to get there a little early so we can let those entering the show know what we think of John Hall and David Crosby.

We’ll have patriotic music playing, American flags flying and signs artfully expressing to Crosby, Hall and the press how we feel about celebrities who viciously malign our troops and the politicians who legitimize them. I also expect significant media coverage so bring a friend.

What: Rally To Defend Our Troops From Slanderous Celebrities.

When: October 28, 2007: (Meet at Bedford Hills MetroNorth Station at 1:30)

Where: 376 Harris Avenue Bedford Hills, NY (we’ll move from MetroNorth Station to the event at 1:45.)

Why: Because singer David Crosby smeared our troops and Congressman John Hall is legitimizing him by making him the special guest at his swanky fundraiser.

DIRECTIONS TO BEDFORD HILLS METRO NORTH STATION (we’ll meet here at 1:30 so we can all go over together at 1:45):

From Points South:

1. Take the Saw Mill Parkway North to Exit 39

2. Get off at Exit 39.

3. Make a LEFT off of the ramp and a very quick right onto Railroad Ave which takes you to the train station lot.

4. Park on the right in a non-metered spot.

From Points North

1. Saw Mill Parkway South to Exit 39 S

2. Get off at Exit 39

3. Make a RIGHT Off of the ramp.

4. Make a RIGHT onto Route 117

5. Make a very quick LEFT onto Railroad Avenue.
