East Fishkill, NY/July 20, 2008 – Kieran
Michael Lalor, the Republican candidate seeking to unseat freshman
Democrat Congressman John Hall, today announced the launch of
EnergySecurity2008.com. The website is dedicated to solutions to
the energy crisis.
“American energy security is a vital component
of our economic security and national security,” said Lalor. “For
too many years, America’s approach to energy policy has been rooted
in pure complacency. Congress has over-regulated and taxed energy
consumption, strangled the supply of oil and electricity, and now
let the American taxpayers foot the bill for the resulting high
prices.”
“We need a comprehensive energy policy that
combines all of the answers in front of us,” added Lalor. “To lower
gas prices we need to drill more, refine more, tax less, regulate
less, and encourage innovation in the private sector. We need to
expand the use of nuclear power to meet our growing energy needs.
Private industry should be encouraged to develop alternatives and
renewables with results-based financial prizes. Finally, all
levels of government have a responsibility to aggressively enforce
laws that protect consumers from criminal wrongdoing that makes
energy costs even higher.”
“We can’t afford to ignore any solutions.
American prosperity depends on a comprehensive energy policy.
EnergySecurity2008.com is dedicated to developing a comprehensive
solution for the future.”
